Whispering Journals: Blue Rocks

In 2025 me and a few friends lunched a hiking track in Bulgaria inspired by the beauty of the country's nature and our previous negligence in exploring those places. We were mostly focused on international urban travel but there was so much peace and tranquility awaiting for us just on a few feet reach.
I wanted to pick some immersive name and decided to call it "Whispering Journals" (as they would whisper to you years later when you recollect the memories). It is cheesy and even sounds AI-generated, I know. :)

Our first destination was the mountain area called "Blue Rocks" (looking at them from afar they look blueish, there aren't many trees on the first line as it is mainly cliffy). It is located near the birthplace of an old colleague - the city of Sliven.

Some of the paths that we took had inspirational and patriotic quotes from history which makes it very interesting, especially for foreigners.
The area is very steep and for people that love scrambling it is the perfect track. For me it was a bit too much as I mainly prefer longer endurance hikes without the additional adrenaline, and at one point I even asked my friends to not continue on a certain path.
Deeper into the area at a higher altitude it is the typical forest range which I adore. There were restaurants with traditional Bulgarian food and a beautiful clean water lake.

Something I found really interesting were the abandoned huts and constructions of an old playground project. There is a beautiful nostalgic vibe to human-made things consumed by nature.
It was a great start to a hopefully amazing hiking track.
